Position:  Hospitalist (Job Code: 1001)

 

Duties:

Responsible for the assessment, evaluation and clinical management of patients in acute and post-acute facilities, including performing histories as well as conducting physical examinations; diagnose and manage patient conditions, including evaluation and treatment, inclusive of daily patient care; attend multi-disciplinary rounds; order, conduct, and interpret diagnostic studies and laboratory tests; evaluate the need for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including suturing, wound care, incision and drainage and splinting; prescribe and recommend pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies, including controlled medications; consult appropriate physicians for patient care needs and refer patients to appropriate sources of care as required; ensure the efficient utilization of resources while supporting clinical pathway implementation and compliance; ensure appropriate and timely referrals to a tertiary care facility as indicated by the patient care needs in consultation with the primary care physician or attending physician; provide coverage, as appropriate, for medical staff during vacations, weekends and emergencies; document all procedures in a timely manner and attend monthly Hospitalist staff meetings; follow the code of conduct as outlined by employer and Medical Staff Bylaws, and follow all hospital policies and procedures; actively participate in all hospital initiatives to improve patient quality and experience; physician must be American Board certified in Internal Medicine, and must possess a valid State of Florida medical license.

Salary:

$270,000 per year

 

Hours:

Will be required to work an overnight schedule

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Doctor of Medicine or related (will accept equivalent foreign degree)

  • Experience: Two (2) years in the position above, as an Attending Physician, or in a related occupation

 

Other Requirements:

  • Must be American Board certified in Internal Medicine

  • Must possess a valid State of Florida medical license
