Dr. Salma Ismail has served the Advent Health Apopka community as a Hospitalist since 2016. Her commitment to improving health metrics, efficiency, and safety in Hospital Practices lead her into the role as lead Hospitalist and Medical Director for Mid Florida Hospital Specialists at the Apopka campus. Dr. Ismail has also been elected to several leadership positions including Chair of Medicine and most recently Chief of Staff for the Apopka campus for the 2024-2026 term.

Dr. Ismail graduated from medical school at St. George’s University. Prior to medical school, she earned her Master’s Degree in research in Cellular Biology at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. She pursued her residency at Advent Health Winter Park and is Board Certified in Family Medicine.

Dr. Ismail’s philosophy of medicine centers on healthy living as vital for wellness and prevention of chronic illness. She thoroughly enjoys the day to day life of Hospital medicine as she is able to live out her childhood dream of practicing medicine and caring for patients. In her spare time, she enjoys being outdoors in nature, running with her husband, and painting.
